Martha Ree Mathis Thrasher, age 93, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dock and Lettie Heard Nichols Mathis; sisters, Florence Glaze, Olene Williams, Sarah Raper; brothers, C. J. Mathis, L. Gershon Mathis, Dallas Mathis. Mrs. Thrasher is survived by her son, Mark (Tammy) Thrasher of Buford; four grandchildren, Demetria Thrasher, Mark (Bebe) Thrasher, Jr., Victory Thrasher, Madison Jackson; one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Thrasher; brother, D. R. (Elizabeth) Mathis of Cumming; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was born on October 24, 1932 in the Sharon Community located in Forsyth County. Mrs. Thrasher received her education from the Forsyth County School System and worked for Management Service for over fifteen years. She attended Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford, GA and loved playing bingo and crossword puzzles. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens located in Buford, GA 30518. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buford Senior Citizen Center in memory of Martha Ree Mathis Thrasher.
