Marie Ward Tynch, 63, of 143 Tynch Town Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville, NC.
A native of Chowan County, NC, Marie was the wife of 42 years to Ricky Vaughan Tynch and the daughter of Berlin Ward and Margaret Alexander Ward, both deceased. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Ward.
Marie was a woman whose life was defined by her love for the outdoors and the simple joys of life. She had a deep appreciation for nature, often seen riding her golf cart to the river to enjoy the serenity and beauty that the natural world provided. She was a true enthusiast of all things spring, with a special fondness for the vibrant colors of flowers and plants that bloomed each year. Her love for the outdoors was only surpassed by her passion for spending time with family and friends, where her infectious smile and kind heart could light up any room.
Marie’s love for adventure began in her youth, as she grew up riding horses, go-carts, and dirt bikes, always seeking out new experiences. Her adventurous spirit continued throughout her life, and she cherished summers spent on the boat in the river, where the laughter and joy of those around her created lasting memories.
She had an undeniable love for animals, often caring for them with the same tenderness she showed those closest to her. Her bond with her family, her friends, and the world around her was a testament to the warmth and love she shared with everyone she met.
Survivors include her husband, Ricky Tynch; daughter, Tiffany Dannelly (Brian); son, Nick Tynch (Keiley Davenport); sisters, Betty Ann Phillips and Joan Speer (Tommy); and brother, Donald Ward (Wendy).
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Rocky Hock Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Dupuy and Rev. Tim Dannelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Tynch Family Cemetery, Edenton, NC
