Martha Jane Uptagrafft

Martha Jane Uptagrafft, age 77, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 after a thirteen-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Swindle, Jr and Elsie Lee Swindle, and by her husband, Frederick LaVon Uptagrafft.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Sarah Alexandra Womack (Andrew Womack); her son, Timothy Frederick Uptagrafft; and her grandchildren, Anastasia Alexandra Womack, Lillian Abigail Uptagrafft, Alden Joseph Womack, and Nathaniel David Uptagrafft; her sister Sarah Drusilla Swindle, and her brother Rodney Glynn Swindle.
Jane was born in Birmingham, AL and raised in Atlanta, GA. She worked for Southern Bell and Goodyear in Atlanta, and after her husband graduated from Georgia Tech she lived in South Carolina as a homemaker for a number of years before returning to Georgia, where she resided until her death. She enjoyed sewing, baking, traveling, Georgia Tech football, and her grandchildren's performances.
A service to celebrate the life of Jane will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel, Lawrenceville, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 2:00 PM until the hour of service at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. Interment will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM Central Time at Quintown Church of Christ Cemetery, Quintown, AL.
