Martha Morgan Vick, 87, passed away on Thursday, March 19 after a brief illness. She left this world much as she lived in it — active, engaged, and surrounded by love. A longtime resident of the Birmingham area, Martha spent many years working as a dedicated legal secretary, known for her sharp mind, professionalism, and steady presence.
Martha embraced life with energy and joy. She was deeply involved in the ballroom dancing community for many years, forming lasting friendships and finding great happiness on the dance floor. She loved to travel, laugh, and spend time with her family, and she remained engaged in the world around her until her final days. Martha was a woman of faith who regularly attended church and was devoted to her Baptist beliefs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elgan and Elzie Clark; her sisters, Jacqueline Powell and Maudline Dial; and her husband, Robert Vick. She is survived by her sister, Marlene Harrison; her children, Darlene Arceneaux, Denise (Kent) McClendon, and Allan (Janet) Morgan; and her grandchildren, Crystal (Duncan) Randle, Jessica Hendrix, Christa (Noah) Gregson, and Holly Morgan. She also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. all of whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23 at 10 a.m., with graveside services to follow at 11 a.m.. Brother Kent McClendon will be presiding. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Martha's life was marked by resilience, warmth, and a spirit that never slowed. She will be remembered for her laughter, her strength, and the love she shared so generously.
A celebration of life will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Sunday, March 29th 2026 at 4 p.m. The address is 611 Riverchase Parkway in Hoover AL 35244. Chris Degreen will be officiating.
