Martia M. Barlow

Martia Manette (Williams) Barlow (66), an inspiration of love and strength, passed away surrounded by her family at home on December 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born on December 14, 1958, in Dover, Delaware to the late, Martin & Mary (Caldwell) Williams of Kenton, Delaware. A proud graduate of Smyrna High School, Class of 1976. Before becoming a homemaker, Martia worked at Storer Cable, where she met her future husband.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Martia's family was the centerpiece of her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert; her children, Anthony Ryan Romano and Jennifer Barlow Roussell; her three beloved grandchildren, Natalie Roussell, Mikey Roussell and Brantley Cahall, her adored great-granddaughter, Charlotte Buszko; her siblings, Sid (Patti) Williams, Steve (Barbara) Williams, Melanie Naylor, Helen (Ralph) Peck, Walker Williams and her longtime friend and sister-in-law, Noor Williams; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her unwavering love and guidance will be deeply missed by each of them. Martia is preceded in death by her son, Andrew Lucas Romano (Little Lukie) and her parents, Martin and Mary Williams.
An avid lover of life's simple pleasures, Martia found joy in the everyday moments spent with her loved ones. Her infectious laugh, her comforting presence, and her ability to listen with an open heart made her a confidante and friend to many. Martia's interests extended beyond the walls of her home. She enjoyed being surrounded by nature, whether it was tending to her garden, watching the birds, or simply sitting by the pond with a fishing pole. Her love for the outdoors was a testament to her appreciation for the beauty of the world around her.
As we bid farewell to Martia, we celebrate a life rich in love, family, and friendship. Her journey on this earth has come to a close, but the warmth of her spirit will continue to light the way for those she has left behind. Martia's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Four Seasons or Accent Care Hospice. And the family would like to give a special thank you to Martia's favorite aide, Janelle Lee. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
