Martin Richmond Bosworth, Sr. passed away peacefully at his residence in
Canton, Georgia, on February 19, 2026.
Born on November 21, 1936, in
Jacksonville, Florida, Martin was the eldest child of Martin Littleton Bosworth and Thyra Lessie Perry. From an early age, he demonstrated courage, determination, and a deep sense of duty-qualities that would define his life.
At just 17 years old, Martin began serving his country in the Naval Reserve before joining the United States Air Force. After his discharge, he moved to Santa Barbara, California, where he worked as an electrician. Seeking greater challenge and adventure, he enlisted in the United States Army, attended jump school, and became a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. As a communications specialist, he led a team known as "Phantom 11," tasked with parachuting into battlefield areas to establish vital communications for headquarters units. He served with bravery and distinction, carrying those experiences with pride throughout his life.
Near the end of his military service, Martin met and married the love of his life, Patricia Posey Bosworth. Together they built a beautiful life and shared 52 years in Macon, Georgia, raising three sons. Martin was a devoted husband and father who cherished teaching his boys to fish and hunt, coaching them in baseball and football, and guiding them to become strong Christian men.
After several years in the moving business, Martin founded Bosworth and Associates Insurance Agency, which he faithfully operated until retirement. In his later years, he enjoyed time on the golf course, brought smiles to many as a member of the Shriners clown unit, and delighted family and friends with his enthusiasm for outdoor cooking.
Martin is survived by his son, Jeffrey Neal Bosworth; grandchildren Briana Bosworth, Anna O'Donnell (Gannon), Riley Bosworth, and Hunter Bosworth; and great-grandchildren Ella O'Donnell, Finn O'Donnell, and Emberlee Kiker. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Wilkins, and daughters-in-law Lisa Bosworth, Patricia Bosworth, and Charity Bosworth.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Posey Bosworth; his sons, Martin Richmond Bosworth, Jr. and Bradley Alan Bosworth; his granddaughter, Jessica Beth Kiker; and his parents.
Martin was a loyal son, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud great-grandfather, and faithful friend. He lived his life as an example of Christian faith, integrity, and service. When he passed into eternity, he was welcomed into the presence of his Savior and into the Kingdom of Heaven.
His legacy of faith, courage, and love will continue through the generations he leaves behind.
