MARTIN BROWN Toddville Martin Brown, 64, of Toddville, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Family will greet friends and family from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, at Toddville Free Methodist Church located at 309 Johnson Dr., Toddville, conducted by Pastor Tim DeVries. Martin was born on Dec. 18, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Charlotte (Steadman) Brown. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. Martin was an active member of Toddville Free Methodist Church. He worked in construction. Martin was an excellent gardener and excelled in canning. He liked cars, guns and going to gun shows. Martin enjoyed hunting, fishing, hunting morels, and being outside in nature. He had a huge heart and was a patient man. Family was important to Martin. He loved his grandchildren and his children too, but they were a lot of work. Martin had a great sense of humor and was a generous and giving man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Martin is survived and lovingly remembered by his mother, Charlotte Brown of Toddville; four children, Samuel Brown of Toddville, Candice (Curtis) Dietz of Toddville, Adam (Laura) Brown of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Lovena Brown of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Riley, Jackson, Khloe, Kylie, Victoria and Gwendalynn; two siblings, Charla "Jeannie" (John) Pecinovsky of Cedar Rapids and Lon Brown of Marion; and his beloved cousin, Mark Africa of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Brown. The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Toddville Free Methodist Church.
