Martin Pirrello Obituary

Martin "Marty" Pirrello, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 10 after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family. Marty was born on October 18, 1941 in Rockford, to Manual "Ace" Pirrello and Helen (Tworzydlo) Pirrello. He graduated from West High School in 1959. On July 20, 1974, he married Joanne Ethington at Emmauel Lutheran, and together they shared 51 wonderful years of love and partnership. Marty worked at Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet for over 40 years.

Marty is survived by his devoted wife Joanne, his son Andy (Jodi) Pirrello; his brother Bob Pirrello; sister-in-law, Lori Pirrello; his grandchildren Anthony Pirrello, Zack (Kylie Vrbicek) Pirrello, and Brandy Pirrello; and his great-grandson Braylon Vasser. He leaves behind several cousins, nephews, and many lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory. Predeceased by his parents Manuel and Helen Pirrello, brother Joe Pirrello, and sister-in-law Linda Pirrello.

A lifelong Chicago sports fan, Marty found joy in cheering on his Cubs and Bears, never missing an opportunity to catch a game. He especially treasured his regular breakfast get-togethers with longtime friends-a tradition filled with stories, laughter, and camaraderie.

Marty will be remembered for his warm smile, steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family would like to give special thanks to the ICU nurses at OSF St. Anthony. Celebration of life to be held at a later date. To share a memory or condolence, please visit www.olsonfh.com.
