Marva Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Feb. 5, 2026.
Marva Angela (Larmond) Thompson passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, surrounded by love and supported by her devoted husband, Sidney Thompson.

Marva was born on June 9, 1960, in the small town of Falmouth, Trelawny, Jamaica, to Esther Cottrell and Carl Larmond. At the age of 10, she migrated to New York, where she attended elementary school and later became a proud graduate of Hunter College.

In 1979, Marva met the love of her life, Sidney Thompson. In the early 1980's, they moved from New York to Hartford, Connecticut, where they built a life together and raised a family. Marva was a devoted wife, loving mother of two, and cherished grandmother.

Marva dedicated over 20 years of service to Konica Minolta, beginning her career as a customer service representative and later advancing to the role of technician. The company eventually relocated Marva and her family to Arizona, where she served as a supervisor until her early retirement. Following retirement, Marva and her husband returned to Jamaica.

Marva leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Sidney Thompson; her children, Mwanisha Larmond and Gabre Thompson; her grandchildren, Aniyah Walker, Gabre Thompson Jr., G'Andre Thompson, Gabrielle Thompson, Gavin Thompson, Giovani Thompson, Gabre Thompson III, and Gianna Thompson; her brother, Fred Scarlett; and sisters, along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Marva will be remembered for her strength, dedication to family, quiet grace, and the love she shared so generously with all who knew her.

Friends may gather on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 10:30 at The Lodge Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. The celebration of life service will take place at 11:00 am.
