Services for Marvell (Copeland) Story, 82, of Stillwater, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the First Baptist Church at Wilson with Rev. Calvin Wood and Rev. Mark Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Marvell (Copeland) Story was born on June 30, 1942, to the late Mr. Jimmy H Copeland and Mrs. Hazel Leah Wood in Wilson, OK. She departed this life on January 11, 2025.
Marvell was raised in Wilson, OK graduating from Wilson High School in 1960. After finishing high school Marvell moved to Oklahoma City for business school. While in Oklahoma City she met and married the love of her life Joe Story. She worked at an elevator company as a secretary for many years in Oklahoma City. She and Joe started a family there, then moved to Moore, OK. Later, life brought them back to Wilson, OK where Marvell worked beside her husband in his business and drove a school bus for Fox Schools. They then moved to Ardmore where she worked with her husband Joe at Otasco. After Joe’s passing Marvell went to work at Joe Brown’s Trucking Company where she retired. Marvell spent all her free time cherishing time with family and grandkids.
Preceding her in death are her parents Jim and Hazel Copeland, husband Joe Story, sister Agatha Richardson, niece Abigail Longest, niece and nephew, Monica and Jesse Holton Copeland.
Marvell is survived by her daughters, Wendolyn Collins and husband Gary of Ardmore, OK, and Cynthia Low and husband Tom of Stillwater, OK; sons, Boyd Story and wife Sylvia of Norfolk, VA and Lloyd Story of Stillwater, OK; Granddaughter, Angela Smee and her husband Randall of Marietta, OK, Grandson, Tommy Low JR. and wife Katarina of Denton, TX, Granddaughter, Katrina Gonzalez and husband Miguel of Ardmore, OK, Grandson, Rocky Low of Lexington, KY, Grandson, Cody Low and wife Brooke of Yale, OK, Granddaughter, Nicole Conover and husband Arthur of Fairfax, VA, Grandson, Austin Story and significant other Danielle Vernon of Wilson, OK, Grandson, Parker Story of Stillwater, OK ,17 great grandchildren, sister Loretta Parrott and husband Eddy of Lone Grove, OK, sisters, Deloris Gray and husband Roger of Wilson, OK, Anita Davis of Wilson, OK, and Belinda Self and husband Scott of Leon, OK; brothers, James Copeland and wife Shirley of Wilson, OK and Herman Copeland and wife Sandi of Wilson, OK; brothers in law, Houston Story of Shawnee, OK and Jerry Richardson of Wilson, OK; sister in law, Rachel Seelye of Moore, OK; numerous nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Low, Jr., Rocky Low, Cody Low, Austin Story, Parker Story, and Miguel Gonzelez.
Family visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:00 P.M., at the First Baptist Church in Wilson.
