Mr. Marvin A. Bishop "Biggie", age 71, of Estill Springs, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at his residence surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 29, 1954, to the late Felix and Lucinda (Schwartz) Bishop. Marvin had a generous spirit and a work ethic that carried him throughout his life. He attended the Pentecostal Church of Jesus in Winchester Springs, where he enjoyed worship and fellowship with friends and family. His faith remained an important part of who he was and guided him in the way he treated others. Before his retirement, Marvin was employed with Winchester Utilities for 50 years, where he was known for his dedication, dependability, and willingness to lend a hand whenever needed. Earlier in his career, he worked for the Belvidere Water Department. He took pride in being someone others could count on, both on the job and in his personal life. Outside of work, Marvin truly loved life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, feeding the deer and birds around his home, and taking in the beauty of nature. Fishing was one of his favorite things to do. He loved visiting the beach whenever he had the chance. He also had a great love for racing and was an avid fan of Hanger Racing, rarely missing a chance to attend or watch a race. Marvin was a sweet, kind, and loving man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. If he had it, he would share it and never expect anything in return. He had a gentle heart, an easy smile, and a personality that drew people to him. He will be remembered for his generosity, his sense of humor, his love for the outdoors, and the way he made people feel cared for and appreciated. Marvin was truly a simple man, but one with a heart larger than life. His kindness, warmth, and selflessness will never be forgotten. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Lucinda Bishop. He is survived by his ex-wife, Marie Sons (Jeff Shetters); children, Dewayne (Kayla) Bishop and Matthew Bishop (Brian Etheridge); grandchildren, Austin Bishop, Allison Bishop, Asaiah Bishop, Abigail Bishop, Aleigha Bishop, Arianna Bishop, Brayden Bishop, and Genesis Pendergrass; great grandchildren, Jaxon Bishop and Madelyn King; sister, Annette Bishop; and several other extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Watson Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2:00 PM in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Ashley and Bro. Mark Turner officiating. Inurnment will follow in Watson Memorial Park.
