Marvin Charles Fait, 93, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the House of the Dove, Marshfield. Marvin was born on July 31st 1932 in Milladore, WI to Stanley C. and Mary Pitra Fait. After graduating in 1950 from Auburndale High School he attended UW River Falls where he earned his BS degree in Science and Agriculture. He then served in the US Army from 1954 1956 until being honorably discharged. Marvin was proud of his service and his Ultra Top Secret Clearance serving in Heidelberg, Germany, laughingly telling the story of Government officials asking questions of the Auburndale populace about his background, worrying his mother to no end. After his service he taught Industrial Arts and Agronomy at Abbotsford High School for one year and then moved to his next challenge, a sales position in the agriculture industry. He was employed as a Regional Sales Manager for Land O'Lakes, retiring after 30 years, setting numerous sales achievement records along the way. Marvin ended his career as General Manager of 20th Century Chemical in 2002.
After seeing a certain lead cheerleader at a Stratford basketball game, and subsequently at a local Rozellville dance, on October 27, 1956, Marvin married Jane L. Kohlbeck in Stratford, WI. They recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
Marvin gave back to the community in a variety of volunteer experiences including lectoring and outreach Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Parish of Marshfield, Sacred Heart School PTA President, Columbus High School PTA President during the school's first Alpine Holiday Event, and Columbus High School Educational Foundation Board. He served on the board of The Gate of Heaven Cemetery for 40 years, serving as President for 35 of those years, and was President of the Board of the Saint Vincent De Paul Society of Marshfield for 9 years. Marvin considered it a duty and a privilege to assist.
As a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 60 years, he became a fourth-degree knight, the Faithful Navigator, a member of the honor guard, and knight of the year in 2004. Marvin was incredibly pleased with his involvement in creating the 4th Degree Scholarship fund. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Marvin enjoyed traveling with Jane, especially in Europe and across the United States. He had a passion for Wisconsin Badger Football and Basketball, rooted in him from his own High School sports playing days where he excelled in Basketball. Marv felt sports gave him confidence for the rest of his life to try new things. Love for his family, including his complete love for grandchildren and great grandchildren was ever present.
Marvin is survived by his wife Jane, and his four children and their families. Judy (Glenn) Engel, Philip Engel and Rebecca (Marc) Movrich; Susan (Tom) Meyers, Nicole (Matt) Pekarske; David (Jeanne Marchak) Fait, Wesley Fait, and Adrian (David) Arp; Dean Fait, Cassandra Marschall and Evan Fait; 5 great grandchildren, Sam, Sophia, Landen, Asher, and Callie, and brother Dennis (Carol) Fait. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers Stanley Fait Jr, Donald, and Vernon.
