Marvin Hagen, 84, Ryder, ND, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 in a Minot hospital.

Marvin Eugene Hagen was born on October 24, 1941, a son of Alfred and Dorothy (Plaisance) Hagen in Minot, ND. He attended country school near Ryder ND, until transferring to Douglas, where he graduated in 1960 from Douglas High School.

On April 11, 1967, Marvin enlisted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country as an active-duty soldier and later as a reservist. Marvin was honorably discharged in 1977.

On October 21, 1977, Marvin was united in marriage to Maureen Petz. They made their home on the Hagen farm, where together they raised their two children Nicole and Ryan. Marvin also farmed small grains and raised cattle. Maureen died November 22, 2017, following her death he continued to live on the farm.

Marvin was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Makoti, ND, and a lifetime member of the LC Jensen Post 99, Ryder, ND. He enjoyed farming, working in the shop, was a licensed pilot, airplanes, tending to his farm cats, and water color painting. Marvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all that knew him.

Marvin is survived by his daughter, Nicole Pierce and her son Emmett; son, Ryan (Jade) Hagen and their children; Josie, Hattie, Ruby and Harrison; son-in-law Brandon Pierce; brother Richard (Stephanie) Hagen; sisters Karen Bronderslev, Janet (Larry) Mahoney, Betty (Pat) Wiley; in-laws: Monica Eriksmoen, Teresa Petz, Sue Ellen Feist, Paulette (Craig) Lozensky, John (Lynn) Petz and Pete Petz; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins;

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 40 years Maureen, a brother Gary Hagen, and brothers-in-law Tim Petz, Thomas Petz and Morris Bronderslev.

Visitation: Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 4 until 5 pm at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Parshall, ND.

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 5 pm in the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Parshall, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 am at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Parshall, ND.

Graveside Service: Rosehill Cemetery, Ryder, ND.
