Marvin James King received his wings on August 10, 2024. He was the second of eight children born to Jimmy and Buelah Lewis King on August 3, 1955, in Cuero, Texas. Marvin attended Reagan High School in Austin, Texas.
Marvin accepted Christ and was baptized by the Rev. M.C. Walker, the Pastor of East 19th Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.
Marvin married Yolanda Escobedo in 1992. To this union, they were blessed with three sons, Andrew James King (AJ), Matthew James King, Joseph James King. He was also blessed with other children: his sons Marvin James King, Jr., Lawrence Demps, and daughters Brita Marshall-Guyton and LaTwayna King.
Marvin joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.
Marvin was a hard worker and provided for his family. He worked at Williams Insulation. He started his own business, Marvin’s Countertops. He later started a trucking company, M & Y Trucking.
Marvin enjoyed traveling to the coast to fish. Marvin leaves to cherish his precious memories: His wife, Yolanda King; His beloved mother, Buelah Lewis King. Sons: Andrew James King, Matthew James King, Joseph James King, Lawrence Demps. Daughters: Brita Marshall-Guyton, and LaTwayna King. Siblings: Gwendolyn Seay, Kenneth King, Jo Fern Lightner, Clyde King, Maurice King (Marcia), Barbara Montgomery (Alex).
Grandchildren: Chantal King, Thomas King, Jasmine King, Marvin James King II, Franchay King, Gavriel Griffin, JaHazniah Griffin, Nehemiah Griffin, Andrew King, Alayah King, Kaiden King, and Atreus King. And a host of nephews, nieces, friends, and loved ones.
Marvin is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy King; Son: Marvin James King Jr, Brother, Jimmy King Jr.
