Marvin Rodney Maynard, age 73, of Tipton, MI, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at home with his wife and son, Kevin by his side. He was born on August 31, 1952 in Tecumseh, MI, the son of the late Lowell and Edna Fern (Alwine) Maynard. After obtaining his Bachelor Degree from Eastern Michigan University, Marvin went to work at Ford Motor Company as an Environmental Engineer and he remained with them for over thirty years, until his retirement in 2002. On July 2, 2016, he was joined in marriage with Rebecca Jan Ries at Hotrum Park, in Tecumseh, MI, and she survives.
Marvin absolutely looked forward to his weekly Tuesday golf outing with his twin brother, Merv and his old high school friends at a variety of courses. One of his special interests was using his metal detector to find various objects and treasures, and using it to help and assist other people in finding their lost items. Marvin loved working outdoors in his yard, and he was especially fond of chopping wood with his brother Bart. On Mondays, you could usually find him inside challenging his son, Kevin in Wii Golf and at night time he would invariably be on the couch with his sidekick Louis, his faithful companion dog, who followed him everywhere. He had fun with his grandchildren, he took them tubing, on tractor rides and would swing them in the hammock swing.
In addition to his wife, Rebecca, Marvin is survived by his three sons, Kevin (Becky) Maynard, David (Heather) Maynard, and Gregory (Jessica) Maynard; his step-children, Mark (Brianna) Kish and Amy (Jon) Taylor; five grandchildren, Gage Maynard, Tyler Kish, and Caroline and Samantha and Edith Taylor; his siblings, Sharon Cardinal, Bart (Cheryl) Gillin and his twin, Merv (Nancy) Maynard; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Maynard, and a brother, Lee Roy Gillin.
At his request, cremation has taken place. The family is planning a celebration of life in his honor to be held at St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the celebration at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions in honor of Marvin may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Hospice of Lenawee.

I´m deeply saddened by the loss of my good friend, Marv. We shared so many memories together - from our days at Tecumseh High School, to the time we rode together to Saline to apply for journeyman´s application. Marv went on to work at the Power Plant in Saline and later at the Ford Plant in Milan, always giving his best in everything he did.

For years, our group of classmates known as "Friends Forever" gathered every Tuesday for golf, laughter, and friendship. Marv´s presence, humor, and kindness made those days even more special.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, my friend - your memory will live on in every story we share and every round of golf we play.

My deepest condolences to the family. I have fond memories of working for Marv (as an environmental consultant) when he was at Ford and then "turning the tables" when he worked for me at The Dragun Corporation. Heaven has gained a little spice and joy.
