Dear Family & Friends of Marvin Strauss,
I was very saddened to hear of Marvin's passing. It was the end of the life of a good man and of an era.
Marvin was a trustee of the Union County Economic Development Corp for over two decades. As you can imagine from his long tenure, Marvin was very dedicated to our mission of support fledgling entrepreneurs. He served on our loan committee for his entire tenure which required many hours of his time every month. More importantly, Marvin was highly engaged and demanded excellence and professionalism from both the UCEDC staff and from our clients in a very direct but also kind manner. As such, he helped shape UCEDC into the leading economic development organization that it is today.
Marvin and I had a special sweet spot for each other. he helped shaped me a professional for which I am always grateful.
We will forever be in his debt for his many contribution to UCEDC.

I grew up with Marvin. From early childhood through young adulthood he was someone the cousins could look up to and be inspired by. One thing that stands out in my memory - during WW2 Marvin was barely 20 years old and was sure to be called to serve his country. i was a young girl of eighteen who had just volunteered for defense work. Before he could be drafted Marvin decided to enlist, and I was honored when he asked, my opinion as to which branch of service he would best qualify for. Being an airplane fan I advised him to join the Air Force. To my surprise, he agreed. It was a decision that neither of us, or America, ever regretted.
God bless my cousin Marvin.
