Obituary
Marvin Harry Vosberg, 90, of Pocahontas, passed away peacefully on December 8th, 2024. He was a well-respected member of the farming community. He worked sun up to sun down most of his earlier days and longer during harvest season. He was known to plan the next day's schedule with his friendly neighbors Pat Flaherty and Larry Peters with either coffee in the morning or beer in the evening.
Marvin enjoyed riding motorcycles. He started with a CB350 Honda. After he turned 60, he purchased his first Harley. Betty and he enjoyed long trips starting with the inaugural Harley Owners Group ride. They joined 1500 other bikers to ride from Portland Oregon to Portland Maine. Being gone 6 weeks was quite an accomplishment for a man that had rarely left the farm for little more than a week since his military service.
Marvin faithfully enriched his children with a yearly vacation. He took them to places as far away as Washington D.C. and Los Angeles. He also took them to closer places like Twin Lakes and Lost Island Lake to go boating.
Marvin was awarded the quilt of honor at the 2023 veterans day ceremony. He was pleased to have his great grand daughter Marie Edwards wear his army uniform during the salute to the military portion of the program. In the Army he had been awarded the Marksman and Good conduct medals.
Marvin is preceded in death by Betty Vosberg (Wife) and Harry and Alice Vosberg (Parents).
He is survived by his three children, Robert (Carol), Randall (Lori), and Rhonda, along with Irene Zeman (sister); Grandchildren including, Rebecca (Patrick) Mooney, Ryan (Tina) Vosberg, Meghan (Jordan) Leckband, Daniel (Courtney) Vosberg; Great grandchildren: Marie and Molly Edwards, Xander and Keirah Talbert, Allison (Avery) Peirce, Aidan Marchant-Leckband; great-great-grandchildren Daniel and Julianne Peirce and many beloved family members and friends.
Marvin Harry Vosberg was a kind, dedicated, and hardworking man who loved his family, his country, and his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
