Mary Adams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by William J. Gormley Funeral Home on Dec. 3, 2025.
Mary "Maeve" (Malin) Adams, of Dedham, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Maeve moved to America with her family at the age of 12, settling in West Roxbury and eventually moving to Dedham to raise her own family. She graduated from Roslindale High School in 1964 and later from Boston State College in 1968. Fate stepped in one day when Maeve took a job behind the counter at a local soda fountain. There, she met a young man from Jack Davis Florist-Joseph N. Adams Jr., who would become the love of her life. What began as a simple hello blossomed into a lifelong partnership marked by devotion, laughter, and 55 beautiful years of marriage. In time, life came full circle when Maeve and Joe purchased the very flower shop where their story began. Maeve was the loving wife of the late Joseph N. Adams Jr. She was the devoted mother of Christopher Adams of Boston; Nicholas Adams and his wife Trisha; Jennifer Byrnes of Scituate; and Zachary Adams of Dedham. She was the cherished sister of Seamus Malin of New Mexico; Patrick Malin and his wife Alison of Marblehead; and Denis Malin and his wife Linda of Walpole. Maeve was the proud grandmother of Ryan, Patrick, Brendan, and Nolan Byrnes, and Nathan and Gavin Adams. At the family's request, a private service will be held at Gormley Funeral Home in West Roxbury on Monday, December 8th.

Mary and Paul Mariano (43 Dartmouth)

December 4, 2025

Sending our condolences to the Adams family. Mary and Joe were great neighbors on Dartmouth Ave. Lately, we would get so nervous when the firetruck and ambulance would come to the house. Your mother was strong-willed and independent to the end. May your memories of her be a blessing to you all. -- Most sincerely, Paul and Mary Mariano
