Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Magoun Arnold, 88, of Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 12:00PM Friday, December 5, 2025 at Lea Joyner Memorial Methodist Church, with Rev. Natalie Faust and Rev. Betty Swanson officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.  Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00AM until time of service.

Mrs. Arnold was born on November 17, 1937, in Goldsmith, Texas, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2025, in Monroe. She was a faithful member of Lea Joyner Memorial Methodist Church, where she participated in the Lea Circle (Methodist Women).

She retired as an Administrator with the Concordia Parish Office of Family Support, Louisiana Department of Social Services. She was also a member of the Retired State Employees Association, the Mon Ami Club, and the St. Patrick Book Club.

Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her parents, George Clinton Magoun and Margaret Forman Magoun; husbands, Arthur A. “Yank” Arnold and Dr. R. Addison Irwin; brothers, Wayne Magoun and Dr. Dale Magoun; sister-in-law, Dr. Patsy Boudreaux; and grandson, Zachary Addison Irwin.

She is survived by her children:

Michael Irwin and wife Nicole, Laura (LaLou) Garner and husband David, Art Arnold and wife Kathy, Jack Arnold and wife Cindy

She is also survived by her brother, Ronald P. Magoun and wife Bobbie; sisters-in-law, Louise Magoun, Carolyn Magoun and husband Paul.

Grandchildren:

Great-grandchildren:

Ava Hodge, Addison Lang, Mary-Frances Ward, Charlie Ward, Aubree Kerrigan, Bryce Brown, Peyton Arnold, Elyse Arnold; and great-great-granddaughter, Delahni Brown.

She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Arnold dearly loved her family and treasured opportunities to travel, visit, and spend time with them. She was equally devoted to her church family. She enjoyed playing cards and board games, and was fiercely competitive, not even allowing her grandchildren to win! She also loved going to movies, lunch outings and travel adventures with her friends.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews, along with members of the Young at Heart Choir and the Pastor’s Sunday School Class.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of St. Joseph’s Assisted Living and Ouachita Healthcare for their exceptional and loving care over the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
