Aiken – Ms. Mary Ann Lockhart Duke, 63, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023.
Mary was born in Bethesda, MD, daughter of Mary Alice Morris Lockhart, and the late Malcolm Dallis Lockhart. She was a former bank teller for Security Federal Bank, and a homemaker.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Ashley D. (Dennis) Jones, New Ellenton; her son, David Kenneth Duke, Carrollton, GA; grandchildren, Brianna Duke, and Isaiah Jones; sisters, Jan Delaigle, Edgefield, and Lynne Lemmons, Chattanooga, TN; and a brother, Matt Lockhart, Atlanta, GA.
Ann was a caring, loving, wonderful friend, sister, daughter, mother, and person. She had a caring spirit for other people, family, and animals. She never wanted to see people or animals feel left out or alone. She found humor and goodness in many situations, or in other people that nobody else would see or imagine. Ann had a loving, kind, and caring spirit, that will live on within us all. She loved Jesus most of all, and always wanted to make sure that people were saved, and were ready to go to heaven.
Ann was a loved Mother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend. Her good humor and caring spirit for others will be greatly missed. She was a deeply caring person and did not want to see other people and animals lonely or hurt.
A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 24, 2023 in the St. Johns United Methodist Church Chapel.
