Mary Ann (Halter) Eftink

Mary (Halter) Eftink, daughter of the late William David Carter and Ethel Eva Climer was born on June 28, 1936 in Oran, Missouri and departed her life on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Hubble Creek Nursing Home in Jackson, Missouri at the age of 89 years.

She was a former employee at Thorngate LTD in Chaffee and later in life work at Diebold Orchard. Mrs. Eftink was a member of the Morley VFW ladies auxiliary and Ladies Elk #1810 in Chaffee. She was of the Baptist faith and resident of Oran, Missouri.

On April 2, 1983 she was united in marriage to Joe Eftink in Oran. Mr. Eftink preceded her in death on June 5, 2019.

Survivors include three sons, Glen (Angela) Fisk of Chaffee, William “Wil” (Steven) Halter of Jackson, Missouri, and Johnny “John” (Dawn) Halter of Apopka, Florida; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also, by a host of family and friends.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria Hix; three brothers, Orvil Carl Carter, Loyd Glen Carter, and David Carter; four sisters, Eva Mae Freeman, Ella Keifer, Norma Jean Sullivan, and Imogene Carter.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from noon until 1:00 pm at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 pm in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Interment will follow at Friends Cemetery at Oran.
