Mary Ann Krauser, 76, Bismarck, formerly of Porcupine, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Porcupine with Msgr. Chad Gion presiding. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery.
Mary Ann was born August 20, 1947 in Shields, ND to John “Jack” and Avina (Red Fox) Krauser. She attended Becker Day School in Chamberlain, SD and later Fort Yates School. After schooling she started work as a Nutrition Director at the Standing Rock Head Start which she worked at for over 20 years and later at the Standing Rock Elderly Program. On September 8, 1964 she married Sherman Iron Shield in Ft Yates. Sherman passed away on November 12, 1981. Later she enjoyed time with her significant other, Perry Iron Road.
Mary Ann’s Catholic faith was very important to her. She was baptized on March 21, 1984 at St. James Catholic Church in Porcupine. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and watching the news.
She is survived by her children, Darrell Iron Shield, Corrine Iron Shield Many Horses (Kenny Many Horses), Scott Iron Shield (Tina Quilt), Mary Ellen Iron Shield, Sherman Iron Shield Jr., Amber Iron Shield, and Lisa Ironroad; and grandchildren, Derrick, Jarrod, and Kole Iron Shield, Trenton Iron Shield, Kenton, Michael, and McKenzie Many Horses, Kyleigh, Kallan, Charlesy, Graceyn, and Graceley Iron Shield, Taylin Vetter, Abby and Alex Eastman, Roxanne Lewis, Benji, Tawna, and Larin Iron Shield, Tristan and Mikiya Wells, Mykelti and Kimora Iron Shield, Axton Gates, Nathan Jr. and Nalani Bradley, and Briggs; sisters, Luella (Ben) Harrison and Annette Goudreau (Curtis Dwarf).
She was preceded in death by her significant other, Perry Iron Road, in 2004; her parents; grandchildren, Corey Iron Shield and Riley and Oakley Kraft; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Iron Shield; siblings Margaret Goudreau, Juanita Rousseau, Mayme Chapman, Roger Goudreau, Victor Goudreau, and Harold Goudreau.
