Mrs. Mary Ann Pankey Watts, age 85, of Boaz, died on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Albertville Rehab Select.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at two o’clock pm in the McRae Chapel with Bro. Fred Pankey and Bro. Doyce Putman officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, January 12, 2026, from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Watts was born in Boaz, Alabama on June 16, 1940, to Ed & Meldona Posey Pankey. She retired from the US Postal Service as a rural route carrier. She was a longtime member of the Union First Congregational Methodist Church.
Mrs. Watts is survived by her Sons: Lane Watts and Lyle & Camilla Watts all of Huntsville, Grandsons: Andrew & Madison Watts and Matt Watts, Great Granddaughter: Kami Watts and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ed & Meldona Pankey, Husband: Neal Lavurl Watts, Brothers: Ausbin & Freda Pankey and Bob & Carol Pankey, Sister: Janice & Jimmy Stephens.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Watts, Matt Watts, Randall Morton, Chris Alexander, Kelton Pankey, Mat Alexander, Ryan Morton, Heath Morton, and Mickey Monroe.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Albertville Rehab Select staff and management. A special thank you to Mrs. Watts’ CNA Magen Bone.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Union FCM Church Cemetery Fund.
