Mary Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Valley Funeral Home - Appleton on Apr. 4, 2023.
Mary A. Baker, age 71, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. She was born on August 15, 1951 in Algoma to the late John and Delores Mercier. She graduated from Luxemburg-Casco High School in 1969. Mary married Michael Baker in Lake Tahoe in January of 1993. She retired from Miller Electric Mfg Co in 2011 after 37 years of employment. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
After retirement Mary found a passion for volunteering and added the Leaven family and NAMI Fox Valley Family to part of her retirement life. The busier she was volunteering at these two great agencies, the happier she was. She enjoyed travelling, especially the good times in Cancun, Mexico. She loved going to new tracks and watching NASCAR; it was always a challenge on TV, what to watch, NASCAR, Packers or Badgers.
Mary couldn't have had a better name than Baker. She loved to bake and always gave away her goodies. Her grandchildren always held a special place in hear heart. After Mike had a liver transplant in September, 2009, the value of organ donation became important to her and she felt very strongly about giving the gift of life to someone in need.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Schaefer and son, Bengi (Diana) Baker. She is further survived by grandchildren; Dalton Evatt, Isaiah Schaefer, Evan and Braydn Baker, sisters in law, Patricia (Ed) Synowicz and Karen Mercier as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Michael.
A celebration of life will be held on April 22, 2023 at The Bar on Lyndale, 2435 W. Nordale Dr, Appleton in the private room upstairs (elevator accessible) beginning 12 noon until 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, volunteer your time to help make someone's life better.
