Mary Dover Barker

Mary Dover Gossett Barker, age 82, of Davidson, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025, while in the care of Novant Health Medical Center in Huntersville, NC. Mary was born on Sunday, June 27, 1943, in Alto, GA to Ernest and Elizabeth Louise (Smith) Dover. She was married to the late Bob Barker on August 3, 1980. Mary enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and was an avid reader and was an advocate for woman's rights. She loved to entertain and cook elaborate dinners for her family and friends. She was a singer in her church choir all of her life until her illness wouldn't allow her to. Mary was predeceased by her parents her husband and her brother James Ross Dover. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Star Whittle and her husband Steve, her brothers William Jesse Dover and his wife Suzanne, Richard Jasper Dover and his wife Edna Sue and John Milton Dover and his wife Gail, her sisters Sherrie L Frankum and her husband Charles and Lisa Marie Bate and her husband Jim and her godson Zack Lindsey and his wife Kate. Services for Mary are incomplete and will be announced by James Funeral Home. Arrangements are in the care of James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078.
