Mary Beth Schaefer, 50, of Carmel, passed away June 25, 2024. She was born December 7, 1973, in Bloomington, Indiana the daughter of Daniel Wallace and Barbara (Mushinski) Fulk. She married Michael Schaefer on November 7, 1998.
Mary Beth was a graduate of Northwestern High School. Her desire to care for others led her to a rewarding career in nursing. She was a registered nurse with Howard Community Hospital and IU North, where she worked in post-partum care. She later decided to continue her education to obtain her master’s degree and becoming a nurse practitioner, joining Ascension St. Vincent in 2017. She loved being outside, taking long walks, and tending to her plants, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Michael Schaefer; daughter, Ashlin Schaefer; father, Daniel (Doris) Wallace; mother, Barbara (Rodger Ferguson) Fulk; brother, Benjamin (Jennifer) Fulk and their children, Rocco Fulk, Rose Fulk Richelle Fulk and Benjamin Fulk Jr.; stepsister, Kimberly (Kevin) Pea-Jones; stepbrother, Tommy (Sally) Pea and their daughter, Allison Pea; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and additional nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the services. Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com.
