Mary Jane Blount, age 66, died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 12, 2023. Mary was born on August 19, 1957, in Fort Smith, AR to Louie and Kiyoko (Miyazawa) Malone. Mary and her family had the opportunity to live in California, Alaska, and Georgia where her father was stationed in the Army before moving to Memphis, TN and eventually settling in Southaven, MS where Mary graduated from Southaven High School in 1975.

Mary may have been small in stature, but she made up for this with her giant personality, and she was a positive light to all who knew her. She was also fiercely competitive and athletic, which shined through in the many years she proudly coached her daughters and so many others in softball and cheer. She loved poetry and romance movies, but Mary was best known for her warm, kind spirit, and she touched many lives with her generosity and selflessness.

But of everything Mary enjoyed, her greatest love was her family, and she adored her time with family and friends. Mary was happily married to Danny Blount who was her partner in life for 47 years. Their home was a place where everyone was welcome, and all those who entered were treated like family.

Mary is survived by her children: Mandy Blount-Fuchs (Matt), Marie Blount, Mary Ann Blount, Danny Robert Blount; Grandchildren: Morgan Ising, McKenna Blount, and Brooklyn Blount; Siblings: Arnold Malone (Sharon) and Terry Malone (Tracey). She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Kiyoko Malone and her husband, Danny Blount.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Monday, December 18, 2023, any time from 12:00-2:00p.m. at the Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home located at 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS 38671.
