Mary Ellen Bolt Coates

Mary Ellen Bolt Coates, 98, of Gray Court and wife of the late Paul Revere Coates, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Prisma Laurens County Hospital.
Mary Ellen was born January 30, 1927, in the Greenpond Community to the late Willie Harley and Mary Curry Bolt. She was a dedicated homemaker and also retired from the Laurens Hosiery Mill. Mary Ellen's true passions were found in her kitchen and garden. A great cook, she delighted in baking for family and friends, often sharing her delicious baked goods and jelly with those she loved. Mary Ellen was a faithful member of Gray Court United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan Coates Wilson and husband Glen; grandson, Glen Lewis Wilson, Jr.; and her grand dog, Moe or "Pup" as she was affectionately called.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Highland Home Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Pat Gannaway, Rev. Ben Rumph, and Rev. Mike Maston. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
