Mary Juanita "Nita" Calhoun a resident of
Cottonwood, Alabama won her battle over breast cancer in the early morning on Thursday, November 23, 2023, and is rejoicing with her mother and father in Heaven. She was 62.

Born to the late Cecil and Martha Groves Taylor on November 8, 1961. Nita was a fun loving, "let's go do this" kind of person. Her hobbies included dancing, traveling, and taking the grandkids on fun adventures. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Nita was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer in 2014, but never gave up hope or faith. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Vincent Calhoun; a daughter, Stephanie Gonzales (Manny); a son, Allen Isler (Nichole), a sister, Abigail Staubitz; two brothers, Josh Taylor, and Cecil Taylor (Holly); five grandchildren, Rhyan Neuciler, Hayden Isler, Braden Isler, Matilyn Gonzales, Cillian Gonzales; several cousins, nieces, and many loving friends.
