Mary Cave, 67, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Tuesday, January 7, 2024, at the Elmwood Funeral Home’s Family Center, located at 5750 Hwy 277 South. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mary was born on November 20, 1957, in Fabens, Texas, to Jose and Dolores Morales. She graduated from Sierra Blanca High School and later married the love of her life, Gerry Cave. Together, they shared 46 beautiful years of marriage filled with love and devotion.
Mary built a successful career, ultimately becoming the store manager of Lowe's Grocery Store in Kermit, Texas, where she worked until her well-earned retirement.
A dedicated fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Mary especially loved watching Patrick Mahomes lead the team. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and trying her luck at slot machines in the casino. But above all, Mary’s greatest joy came from her family. Known affectionately as "Bubbles," she was the best grandmother any child could ask for, always radiating warmth, kindness, and love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Dolores Morales; three siblings, Andrea Ramirez, Josefina Ramirez, and Socorro Morales; and her fur baby, Shelby.
Mary is survived by her husband, Gerry Cave; her children, Eric Morales (Casandra Morales), Heather Cave (Oscar Ramon), and Kala Cave (James Rodriguez); her grandchildren, Zackery Ramon, Leah Chavarria, Ricky Stratton, and Liam Chavarria; one great grandchild, Grayson Chavarria; her siblings, Lisa Salgado, Lucy Esparza, Joe Morales, Chuy Morales, Carlos Morales, and Manuel Morales; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
