Mary Kay Cieslo, 69, New Florence was called home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2025. Born June 9, 1956, in Johnstown, daughter of the late John J. and Catherine (Bartosic) Kvarta. Also preceded in death by husband Francis “Frank” Cieslo and brother Francis Kvarta Sr. She is survived by daughter Stephanie (fiancé Josh Howard) Cieslo, son Stephen, brother John (Mary Jane) Kvarta, and sister-in-law Roberta Cieslo. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Tanya Kvarta; Lynn (Greg) Clement; Francis (Allie) Kvarta Jr; Amanda (Josh) Bracken; Bradley (Alyssa) Kvarta; as well as great nieces and great nephews.
Mary Kay loved her children, future son-in-law (who actually cut her grass the “right” way) and furry grand babies. She loved to bowl and had been a part of many bowling leagues, both at Ligonier Lanes and Bolivar Lanes, where she still helped out with the Kids’ Bowling League. She and her son, Stephen, were regulars at Ruthie's Diner and Bigginz Restaurant. Mary Kay served at both St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church and Heritage Methodist Church as custodian and took pride in making sure everything was just right. She also worked for Ligonier Valley Meals on Wheels and enjoyed her daily bantering with the chef. It would be hard to find a person with more strength or a bigger heart than Mary Kay. She leaves big shoes to fill and will be greatly missed.
