Mary Satterfield Cobb

Elon, NC Mary Satterfield Cobb, age 81, formerly of Church Street in Altamahaw went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Rev. William Henry Cobb. Mary retired after 30 years with Monarch Hosiery Mill and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church. She served the Lord for over 20 years as the church pianist for Victory Baptist Church. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Keith Cobb and his wife, Pat of Gibsonville, Jimmy Cobb and his wife, Karen of Burlington; grandchildren, Lisa Warren, Jennifer Gwynn, Jami Cobb, Brian Cobb, Karri Melton, Billy Lemons and Shane Culler; nine great grandchildren; sister, Lelia Johnson of McLeansville; brothers, Woodrow Satterfield of Reidsville and Henry Satterfield of Gibsonville. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, William Arthur and Callie Mae Smithey Satterfield; sisters, Juanita Baldwin and Naomi Matkins. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Altamahaw Baptist Church by Dr. Steve Tucker and the burial will follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her son, Jimmy Cobb, 1761 Gerringer Mill Road, Burlington, NC.
