Mary Combs (nee Vaughn) age 59, of Chicago then Elwood, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband Larry Combs; son, Nathan Combs; siblings, Edward “Duke” (Herminia) Vaughn, Mike Vaughn, and Brian (Cathy) Vaughn; and cherished aunt and uncle Bob and Marylou Doucet; her loved nieces and nephews, Patricia (Roy), Jason, Brittani, Kellie, Samantha, Hunter, Ryan, Brynlee, and Kinzie; and numerous cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Therese (nee Doucet) Vaughn.
Mary was a great hostess, fabulous cook and baker her house was always open, and she would go out of her way to make sure everyone was pleased. Generous and kind, loved her nieces, nephews, and Godchildren as her own. She loved anything Snoopy. She had a contagious laugh, and her eyes would light up the room. Mary was unselfish and dedicated her life to taking care of her family.
Services for Mary will begin on Friday, February 23, 2024 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd in New Lenox from 2pm-8pm. Services will continue the following day, Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the funeral home with a visitation from 9:30am until time of the funeral service at 11am.
