Mary Compton Obituary

Published by Koepsell-Murray Funeral & Cremation Services, Beaver Dam on Mar. 7, 2022.
Mary H. Compton, age 72, of Horicon, died on Monday, March 7, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. There will be celebration of Mary's life at a later date in her home town of Munising, Michigan where she will be inurned at Maple Grove Cemetery. Mary Helen Compton was born on March 24, 1949 in Munising, Michigan to Theodore and Lillian "Tiny" (Jerry) Compton. She raised her family in Munising and worked for the public schools, where she meticulously cleaned the schools until her retirement. Mary later moved to Horicon, Wisconsin to be closer to her daughters. She loved all animals and was exceptionally fond of her fur babies. She was the rock that held her family together and was loved by all. Mary was extremely grateful for the time that she was able to spend with family, especially her grandchildren. She had a knack for decorating and crafting and also had a green thumb; Mary's home was always filled with many plants. Mary had an indomitable spirit and had an immense warmth about her that made people love her and feel welcome in her home. She also had a passion for music and we're sure the choir was welcoming her when she went to her eternal home. Mary is survived by her life partner, Jeff Doherty of Horicon, WI; daughters, Lisa Collins of O'Fallon, IL, Nicole Lennox of Neenah, WI, and Heather (Fiancé, Chris Egan) Mannisto of Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren, Samantha (Sean) Dothager, Michael Collins, Matthew (Fiancée, Keegan Riggs) Collins, Josh (Carlie) Howard, Taylor (Fiancé, Brad Heinecke) Ray, Devin (Emma) Brisson, Wyatt Geenen and Rourke Egan; great grandchildren, Tucker and Clint Howard; brothers and sister, Delbert Compton, Harley (Jean) Compton, Jerry (Pam) Compton, Bob (Peggy) Compton, and Sue Hancock; so many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Paul and Keith Compton.

Mary, you are on your best journey ever. Eternal life in heaven. I am so grateful to have known you. Remembering our daily lunch dates when I lived in Horicon, and rummage sales. Trying to pack our cars literally to the max. RIP my friend.
