TROY - Mary Lynne Connally passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Lynne was born on April 12, 1941, in Troy, to the late Charles and Laura (Feiden) VanDermark. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy, and St. Peter's School of Nursing in Albany. Following her education, Lynne was employed as a registered nurse at the Leonard Hospital, American Red Cross and Waterford School District, before becoming a teaching assistant with the Lansingburgh School District. Lynne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She delighted in participating in her daughters' and grandchildren's many sporting events, plays, concerts and other activities. She also took great pride in her work helping students in the Lansingburgh schools with reading and math. Lynne loved animals, especially the many dogs she had throughout life, including Muffin, Tasha, Tiki, Bo, and Misty. Lynne was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed spending time at Saratoga Race Track and in Atlantic City, but was most happy sitting at home beside her pool with her family. Lynne was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Edward F. "Ned" Connally; her brother, Greg VanDermark; her sister-in-law, Carol Stern (Joe); and her brother-in-law, Tom Connally. She is survived by her cherished daughters, Lauren (Charles), Kathleen, Susan Stewart (Jeff), and Lynne; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lynne also leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Jared Ruocco (Alana), Kyle (Sarah), Eliza and Jenna Stewart, and Meghan and Michael Connally; and great-grandchildren, Luca and Anthony Ruocco. She is also survived by her sister, Laura (Sister Lauren) VanDermark; her brother, John "Jack" VanDermark (Rhea); and her sisters-in-law, Karen Connally and Susan VanDermark. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Staff at Community Hospice and Donna Tallman. for their support and compassion. Calling hours will be on Monday, December 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Ave. (124th and 125th Streets), in Lansingburgh, with funeral services to follow immediately thereafter at the same location.
