Mary Crivello Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bermudez Family Cremations & Funerals - Monterey on Jul. 17, 2022.
Mary Mancuso Crivello, age 85, was called home to heaven on December 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving family and in the comfort of her home. A Monterey native, she was born on October 16, 1930 to Pietro and Jennie Mancuso. Mary was the first baby girl born at the old Monterey Hospital on Hartnell Street. Her parents worked in the sardine fishing and canning industry, first settling in Monterey in 1917.
Mary attended local schools, graduating Monterey High School in 1948. Until recently she attended her annual high school class reunions. As a young woman and a newlywed she worked at the former First National Bank on Alvarado Street from 1948 to 1955. Within a few years she advanced quickly in bank management. She then gave up her employment to devote herself to being a full time wife and mother.
Mary was known for her quiet disposition, gentle nature and caring heart. She enjoyed needle work, sewing, and was an excellent cook and baker. Her pride and joy was to welcome family and friends to her home. She was a member of a local women's rosary group, the Italian Catholic Federation Branch #36, and a life long member of San Carlos Cathedral Parish. Mary was very devoted to her faith in God through Jesus Christ and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Sunday Mass for many years.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Frank, and their three children, Joseph, Very Reverend Peter, and Providence Crivello, all of Monterey. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 30th at 6 o'clock pm followed by a Vigil Service at 7 o'clock pm at San Carlos Cathedral in Monterey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated there as well on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10 am. Internment will be at San Carlos Cemetery.
Mary's family would like to thank her doctors, Richard King, Nancy Rubin and Michael Galloway, and caregivers for their dedication, compassion and attentiveness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Carlos Cathedral Ongoing Maintenance & Perseveration Fund or San Carlos Cathedral Loaves and Fishes Outreach Ministry both at 500 Church St., Monterey, CA 93940. Bermudez Family Mortuary is directing the services.
