Mary F. DiNorscia DiFabio, age 94, of Kennett Square, died Tuesday Sept 21, 2010 at Brandywine Hall Retirement Home in West Chester. Born in Madison, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Sopino and Frances Gale DiNorscia. After high school, Mary worked at the Hat Shop in Kennett Square and the Red Lantern Tavern owned by her family which was the former location of Waywood Beverage. Later, Mary worked at The Du Pont Company as an administrative assistant. She was also the proud owner of the Town Shop, a ladies clothing store, in Newark DE. In recent years, she worked for Clark Shoes in Kennett. One of Mary’s greatest assets was her sales technique which she used to sell Sarah Coventry Jewelry and Avon. Mary was a world wide traveler. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and playing bridge. She had been a volunteer at Pocopson Home for many years. Mary also made critters for the Brandywine River Museum. Survivors include four sisters, Inez DiFabio of Lansdowne PA, Gemma Cloud of Kennett Square, Lucie McGlinn of Lancaster CA, and Anne Berardi of West Chester, a sister in law, Lucy DiNorscia of Morgantown, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was also survived by numerous loving friends. She was predeceased by a brother Anthony S. DiNorscia. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 27, 2010, 11AM at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home (610-444-4116) 250 W. State St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. Family and friends may visit with the family from 9:30-11AM before the service. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Kennett Area Senior Center 427 South Walnut Street Kennett Square, PA 19348 or Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
