It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Douglas, affectionately known as "Aunt Libby" and "Dougie," who left this world on January 9, 2025, at the age of 93 in Troy, Ohio. Born on November 12, 1931, in Albany, Kentucky, Mary touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

Mary was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, Teresa Douglas. Her legacy lives on not only through Teresa but also through the numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends whose lives she enriched with her gentle spirit. As the baby of ten children, Mary's childhood was filled with the love and guidance of her parents, Naomi and Finis Marsh. She was preceded in death by her 9 siblings and her husband, Ken Douglas.

In her life, Mary found immense joy in teaching children at Sunday School and caring for them in her home. Cooking for her church, family, and friends was another way Mary expressed her affection.

Mary’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and purpose. Her presence at the Huber Heights First Baptist Church will surely be missed by all who knew her.

In honor of Mary, there will be two visitation services held at Huber Heights First Baptist Church located at 5875 Shull Rd, Dayton, Ohio. The first will take place on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by another on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The funeral service will commence immediately after on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM, concluding with a graveside service at Arlington Memorial Gardens, located at 2145 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huber Heights First Baptist Church or Randall Residence of West Milton or Hospice of Miami County.

The family would like to thank Barb Meeker, Randall Residence of West Milton and Hospice of Miami County for taking such good care of Mary.

As we say goodbye to Mary, we remember a life well-lived—a life of love, service, and profound faith. Aunt Libby's memory will forever remain in our hearts, serving as a reminder of the generosity of spirit and the uplifting power of love.
