Mary Alice Skipper Dupree, age 89, of Iron City, GA, passed away Friday morning, January 30, 2026, at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dupree will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Dupree was born in Jackson County, FL on September 28, 1936, to Glover Skipper and Pearl Helms Skipper. She worked over 20 years at Donnie Mills Sewing Factory, the approximately 15 years as a door greeter at Wal-Mart. She loved to watch hummingbirds and purple martins in her yard. Mrs. Dupree was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and attended Iron City Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Mike Dupree of Donalsonville, GA and Marty Dupree of Iron City, GA; and her grandson, Brad Dupree. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dupree was preceded in death by her parents, Glover Skipper and Pearl Helms Skipper; her husband, James Melvin Dupree; her brothers, Horace Skipper and Norris Skipper; and her daughter-in-law, Stacey Dupree.
