Mary Elkins of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Born in Buncombe County to the late Dorothy J. Elkins and Arnold Robinson. Also preceding her in death was two sisters, Sandra Kay Cannon and Wanda Dixon; a son-in-law Allen Fisher; and a niece, Michelle Dixon Foley.
She was a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother who was the primary caregiver to both parents for several years. She retired from Coats America following 39½ years of service. She attended Hicks Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Fisher; one granddaughter, Makayla Fisher; also surviving sisters, Judy Robinson, Patricia Dillon and Carolyn Pannell and her husband Robin; a brother Gary Lee Robinson and wife Ann; and two brother-in-law’s Chris Cannon and wife Linda, and George Dixon; several nieces, Amanda Gress (Michael), Mary Beth Goforth (Christian), Ashley Robinson, and Chloe Cannon; nephews Brian Woodby and Christopher Robinson and his wife Brittany; great nieces, Kerstyn Loftis, Leaha Cook, Brooklyn Robinson, Kaylee and Piper Robinson, Bristol and Cheyenne Goforth; Great nephews, James Foley, Hunter Gress, Landon Gress and Carson Robinson and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Allen Laws officiating. Receiving of friends will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Ashford Community Cemetery.
