Mary was a student of mine at Maumelle High School. She was in my 10th grade biology class. As a student, she always contributed to class, making the experience for all more enriching. One project she especially excelled at was her adaptation project. She selected a unique organism and wowed us all with her in-depth knowledge. She also made one of the most memorable GMO posters that made us all laugh. Mary was loyal, funny, creative and held me accountable as her teacher. She once called me when I relocated to the U of A, Little Rock just to tell me she missed having me at Maumelle. Hearing her voice, I missed her too. I cannot express how saddened I am by her passing. I will hold my memories of Mary dear to my heart.
