Mary Essex Obituary

Mary E. Essex

Mary E. Essex passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 95. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Julia (Turbi) Essex; brothers, David, John, James, Joseph, and Michael; and sisters, Sharon, Anne (Elizabeth), Josephine Essex, and Rose Rombach. She taught school in Toledo for 25 years, loved to read, and ride her bike. Mary was close to her family and God. She attended Mass every day and truly lived her faith.

Mary is survived by her sister, Julianna Essex-Bagley, and many nieces and nephews. She was greatly loved.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., in Oregon, Ohio, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, at Epiphany of our Lord- St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1880 Genesee St., at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Louis Helping Hands.
