Mary Frances Floyd, age 89, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed from this life on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Loyd Hall officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Restland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are David Hadeler, David Putman, Craig Frazee, Dale White, Charles Findley, and Melinda Burke.

Mary Frances was born at home near Gatesville on October 13, 1934 to Francis Samuel Glass and Laura Odessa (Pack) Glass. She was the oldest of three children. She attended school in Gatesville and resided in Gatesville all of her life.

On October 2, 1950, she married Raymond Floyd who she had met on a blind date. Mary Frances was a homemaker and the mother of five children. In 1969, she started working with her husband. The couple operated Floyd’s Floor Service together for 26 years before retiring in 1995. She and Raymond were married for over 69 years when he passed away.

She became a member of the Church of Christ at age 12 and was a longtime member of the Gatesville Church of Christ. She was a lifelong and avid reader, a love that was instilled in her by her grandmother. She collected a large assortment of books over the years. If you visited her home, you might remember the floor-to-ceiling book-filled shelves in multiple rooms, and in later years, you might remember seeing anything and everything with a ladybug on it, as she was known as “Ladybug” to some. She was also a Dallas Cowboys fan and a Baylor University sports fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother, David Glass.

Left behind to cherish memories are her five children: Brenda Hadeler and husband David, Debra Williams and husband David Putman, Nancy Frazee and husband Craig, Dr. James Floyd and wife Kelley, and Alisa Hudson. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Trevor Williams and wife Veronica, Blake Williams, Ryan Hadeler, Sean Hadeler, Kirsten Frazee, Robert Frazee, Mariel Frazee, Matthew Hudson, Katherine Hudson, Kade Floyd, and Erica Floyd; two great-grandchildren: Torin and Arwen Williams; brother Donald Glass and wife Louise; and many nieces and nephews.

Her children would like to express their deepest gratitude to her three caregivers that she referred to as Mary's Angels: Carmen Gribble, Anna Kuzenka, and Billie Cotten.

Proverbs 31: Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Her children arise up and call her blessed.

Memorials may be made to Gatesville Church of Christ, 2417 East Main Street, Gatesville, Texas 76528.
