Mary Floyd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Logan Funeral Home, Inc. - Philadelphia on Sep. 16, 2025.
Mary Louise Floyd (née Santor), age 82, of Philadelphia, died on September 13, 2025. Mrs. Floyd was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Michael O'S Floyd. She is survived by: sons, Michael F. (Sharla), Edward W. (Chiara), and Stephen A. (Erin); granddaughters, Amelia, Henrietta and Anna; and sister, Denise Ward. She graduated from Dunbarton College of Holy Cross, and, after graduation taught French. Since their wedding in 1970, Mrs. Floyd and her late husband lived in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia where they actively participated in that historic neighborhood's redevelopment. Mrs. Floyd was passionate about anything and everything in Philadelphia, from civic engagement to the Eagles. She instilled a love of learning in her sons, and she herself was an enthusiastic reader of biographies and history, always happy to have a lively conversation about her most recent read. Mrs. Floyd also enjoyed attending history lectures, dinners, and happy hours at the Union League of Philadelphia.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Old St. Mary's Church, 242 S. 4th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19106.

In lieu of flowers, and following Mrs. Floyd's belief in civic engagement and good citizenship, donations may be made to the Student Civic Education Fund at Founding Forward, 140 South Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19102 or at https://foundingforward.org.
