Mrs. Mary Lynn Freeman, a cherished resident of Jasper, departed from this world on the serene morning of November 15, 2025, in the comfort of her home. Her journey through life was accompanied by enduring love and unforgettable laughter, and now, Freeman Hood Funeral Services has taken on the sacred duty of honoring her memory.
Mary's spirit is now reunited in peace with her beloved father, Jimmy Wayne Thursby; her sister, Crystal Johnson; her brother, Johnny Ray Thursby; and her stepfather, Dennis McFarland—each of whom she held dearly in her heart.
She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her legacy: her devoted husband, Terry Freeman; her two daughters, Mallory (Cory Tillery) and Tara; her son, Blake; and her mother, Cat McFarland. The warmth of her love also lives on in her brother, Reggie Thursby, sister Amy McFarland and in the joyful laughter of her grandchildren—Caleb Freeman, Austin Posey, Tristan Posey, Isabella Posey, and Hunter Tillery. Together, they carry forth her spirit, bolstered by the love of her aunt, Dean, and a wide circle of friends and family who were touched by her kindness.
A celebration of Mary's life will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather for visitation at Faith Baptist Church at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM, led by Pastor Daniel Peoples. She will find her final rest at New Hope Cemetery, a place where her memory will forever bloom.
In the hearts of all who knew her, Mary Lynn Freeman will be remembered not just as a beloved wife, mother, and friend, but as a beacon of love and resilience—a true embodiment of warmth that will be deeply missed.
