Mary Gann, age 92, of
Houston, MS went to her Heavenly home on October 7, 2025. She peacefully entered her eternal rest and into the arms of her Savior - the very place she longed to be.
Born on December 31, 1932 in Charleston, MS to Grover Cleveland Turman and Annie Mae Carter Turman. Mary lived a long, beautiful life marked by faith, grace, and devotion. A truly virtuous and godly woman, she was steadfast in her walk with the Lord and lived each day for Him. Her greatest desire was to one day live for eternity with her Heavenly Father, and she spent her life preparing her heart - and leading others - toward that promise.
Mary was a pillar of strength and faith for her family. She prayed daily for each of her loved ones, lifting them up with a quiet, powerful faith that left an everlasting imprint on generations. She was known for her kind, kindred, peaceful nature. Her gentle spirit, her unwavering love, and her constant prayers were the heart of her family.
A faithful member of Fairview Church of God of Prophecy, Mary found great joy in worship, fellowship, and service. Her seat in church was rarely empty, her praise was evident, and her prayers were felt. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will never fade.
After being apart for 30 years, Mary is now reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Richard M. Gann. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Annie Mae Turman; her sisters, Letha Turman, Laura Turman, Lilly Mae Hendon, and Frances Stamper; and her brothers, William Turman, Filmore Turman, and Dick Turman.
She is survived by her two sons Walter (Hilda) Turman of Nesbit, MS & Richard Lee (Linda) Gann of
Houston, MS; her sister, Joyce Williams of Houlka; her ten grandchildren, Billy Turman, Michael Turman, Steven Turman, Christy Watkins, Misty (Richie) Lancaster, Cleveland (Shirley) McAnally, Rita Lewis, Mary (Wayne) Metcalf, Thomas (Ginger) McAnally, & Malinda McAnally, her fifteen great-grandchildren, and twenty-nine great-great-grandchildren - all of whom adored her and will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
We send our deepest gratitude to her grandson Cleveland and his wife Shirley for their compassionate and unwavering care for Mary in her final days.
Southern Funeral Home of Houston is honored to serve her family.
