Mary Jane Goggins, 59, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, was called home on December 26, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Holyoke on November 13, 1966, to the late Lindy Goggins and Henry Goggins.
Mary Jane attended Bethlehem Baptist Community Church and the Holyoke Public School system. She worked for many years at General Cleaners of Holyoke. Above all, she was a cherished and irreplaceable part of her family. Well known throughout the Holyoke community, Mary Jane was deeply loved by all who knew her. She had a special way of making people laugh with her unique charm and warm personality. She will always be remembered as gentle, sincere, and kind-hearted.
Mary Jane was predeceased by her mother, Lindy Goggins of Holyoke, MA; her father, Henry Goggins of Hartford, CT; and her sister, Barbara Jean Davis of Americus, GA.
Mary Jane is survived by her life partner Nelson Birks and four children: Nancy Goggins (Barry) of Springfield, MA; Calvin Roman (Avalyn) of Holyoke, MA; Olando Rodriguez (Rachelle) of Springfield, MA; and Shanee Medina of Holyoke, MA. She is also survived by her brother, Eddie Stevenson (Mary) of Holyoke; and her three sisters, Shirley Thaxton of West Springfield, MA; Francine Peterson of Holyoke, MA; and Dorenda Taft of Chicopee, MA. Mary Jane also leaves behind eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Mary Jane will be deeply missed by her family and friends, especially the Ladies of Laughter, who held a special place in her heart.
