Ruby worked until the age of 86 retiring only due to her decline in health. She worked as a bookkeeper through the majority of her career life, most recently for Jaguar Texas Valve & Instruments. She was a very diligent, devoted professional, who took pride in her work. She enjoyed traveling, especially RV camping, cooking and had a keen eye for house renovation. She was a sharp negotiator and knew exactly what she wanted from contractors.
