Mary Ann Evans Grover, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, surrounded by love and wonderful memories.

Mary Ann is survived by her sons Steve Grover (Colleen) and Mark Grover, and her daughter Cathy Lankford (Terry). She was a proud grandmother to six grandsons and great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Grover, grandsons Jeramie Grover and Justin Grover, her five siblings, and her parents Iola and Duward Evans.

Mary Ann was born January 30, 1935, in Bresher, Missouri, to Iola and Duward Evans. She graduated from Park Rapids High School in Park Rapids, Minnesota, where she met the love of her life, John, with whom she shared an incredible 70 years of marriage.

Mary Ann worked for many years at the ISU Seed Lab before she and John returned to Minnesota, where they enjoyed a peaceful life on East Crooked Lake. She found joy in her family, loved when her children and grandsons came to visit, and cherished the hauntingly beautiful call of the loons across the lake. Gardening was another of her great pleasures.
She lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family. Those who knew her will remember her warmth, her gentle spirit, and the deep bond she shared with John.

At Mary Ann and John's request, a Celebration of Life for both will be held at East Crooked Lake at a later date.
