Mary Elizabeth Hackett

Mary Elizabeth (McGonigal) Hackett "Babe", 54 years old, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025. She was born in Akron on September 8, 1971 to Elizabeth and the late James McGonigal.

She attended the Annunciation Grade School and graduated from East High School.

Mary worked in dentistry for many years.

She was blessed with her son, Dylan Hackett (Te'Erica Grimes) and grandson, Jaxon James Oliver; and her daughter, Riley Hackett. Mary's love for her family was her priority. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth "Liz" McGonigal and Thomas More; brother, James McGonigal and Karen of Daytona Beach, Florida; sister, Catherine Boyes and Daniel; her children's father, Scott Hackett; nieces and nephews, Jaclyn and Keith Fish of Idaho, Joshua and Jessica Boyes, Jordyn and Matthew Rufener; great-nieces and great-nephews, Audrey, Aiden, Wren and Josephine; aunts, Mary Lou Krieg and Kate Fischer; and many cousins and friends.

Mary's family wants to thank the Cherish Hospice Care for their support and caring for Mary. Also, thank you to all the family and friends who came to visit, prayed, and shared favorite memories of Mary. The love, kisses, and tears given to Mary on her journey have been priceless.

A celebration of Mary's life will take place in the spring when the weather is to her liking.
